An update on the Jason and Carly relationship, since you last explained them on 12/7/98. I don't think that I need to explain to everyone, yet again, how the relationship started with Carly and Jason. We move into the present.
Jason and Carly have a relationship that by all means, is dangerous, but dangerous only to them. She plays games, he tends to save her. The only difference this time around is that he realizes that he is trying to save her because he actually is starting to care for her, more than just friends.
It is safe to say that Carly has always loved Jason, she has never experienced anything like that and is scares her. All she has ever known is that sex is a way to get what she wants. She wrecks her life, but she doesn't care because her life is wrecked anyway. She and Jason started off having sex because she thought it was a way to hold on to him, that's the only way she knows how. She never realized that Jason was actually in love with someone else, and would not change her for anything in this world. Carly fought as hard as she could, lost and decided to start her life with Tony, but she soon realized that Tony was just a replacement for Jason.
By this time Jason had decided to let Robin go, slowly but surely he and Carly found their way back to one another. They might not be together sexually but they sure have bonded in the friendship area. Friendship and loyalty to Jason are very important. Carly may do bad things, that really test their friendship, but when it comes down to heavy stuff, for example, her hiding and disposing drugs for Jason, her pulling through for Sonny, her doing all it takes for Michael to be fine, her doing her utmost best to get Jason and Michael and her to be a family again, she pulls through. Jason knows this and he appreciates it. Jason knows that he can count on her no matter what, and that solidifies his relationship and feeling towards her. Carly is a born fighter, she has fought her way through the roughest of times, but most important of all, she accepts Jason for who he is, not as a Quartermaine, not as a brain damaged kid, just as what he is now, Jason Morgan, mobster and all. But, why shouldn't she accept him, if he accepts her with all her flaws, liar, cheater, etc.
She may frustrate him at times and he may want to kick her out of his life, and when he does decide to leave her, it is only for a little while, because he misses her. This is where their relationship will take a turn in the other direction.
Fast forward to the present, 08/26/99, Jason is struggling to let go of Carly, so she and Michael can have a stable family, but he realizes that it is harder than it seems. Carly has decided that she will let Jason go, even though she knows that she truly loves him. My thoughts are that she is just kidding herself, once again. She will look for Jason again, and Jason like always will accept her into his life again. The only difference this time, is that he knows, REALLY KNOWS, that she loves him, and he is starting to realize that he loves her, too.
1) Carly and Jason are loyal to one another. Each would go out of their way to protect the other.
2) They accept each other at face value. The don't judge one another. Carly doesn't care that Jason's been brain damaged and Jason doesn't care that Carly isn't the most honest person in the world. Robin may thinks she loves Jason but she can't accept him just the way he is and what he does for a living, where as Carly does and doesn't care of it.
3) They understand one another. They both feel like outsiders and accepts that. They lean on one another for support. Carly more on Jason, but still Jason has Carly to remind him that he is not as damaged as everyone else keeps reminding him of.
4) They just look so cute together. There is definitely passion, if not a little love there.
5) The plots you can set up against and with them are going to be great.
Thanks a whole bunch!!!

There are many, many reasons why I would like to see Carly & Jason as a couple. The following are just a few:
The actors have dynamite chemistry (IMO)
Steve Burton and Sarah Brown have been kicking donkey for the past two weeks, with each other and everyone else. These two kids have spark.
They are like flip sides of a coin
If you could morph the two characters, you might end up with an emotionally stable, middle-class hermaphrodite who tells a lie or two.
Ooooh...the Storyline Potential!
I know that Jason loves Robin, in that sickeningly sweet, pure, childlike way. That's why I think they're boring.
I think Jason and Carly can be a raucous, tough, fun, unpredictable, passionate couple with occasional moments of tenderness that would be exciting to watch!
